The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu has stated that the new Yaa Naa is a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The minority leader made this known to party communicators on a recorded conversation but which was intercepted and now out in the public domain.

“Now the Yaa Naa, he was then the Chief of Savulugu, he dressed up from 10am….he is one of us…those of you who are afraid….” Haruna said.

Haruna interestingly was on his way to an official assignment in Pennsylvania, US, with the Majority Leader and other colleagues when he decided to cut short the official schedule to attend to the party engagement.

Continuing, Haruna said “he (the YaaNaa) had sat from 10am to 4pm waiting for President Mahama to come. The dress he was wearing was heavy and so he was suffering in the hot weather. Around 5pm when they brought President Mahama the chief was left at his palace still waiting. President Mahama was meanwhile driven straight to the Savelugu market to campaign…I’m just giving you my own narrative….so this is how you lost Savulugu. It is not because the NDC is not popular at all”, these are the words of the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu.
