….Shares Bawumia’s Confidential Memo With Friends

Although Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, is yet to receive official communication from the presidency to act officially as Acting Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), he has started calling the bluff of his superiors, especially, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to DAYBREAK sources within the corridors of power, a confidential message sent to him by the second gentleman of the land in respect of a very sensitive matter was not complied with and even shown to friends.

“A confidential message sent by the Vice President to the Acting Commissioner-General, in respect of a very sensitive matter, was shown to several people who were with him at the time, especially his Aide at the time, a certain Ph.D. holder”, a source told DAYBREAK.

Continuing, the source said, “as if the sharing of the confidential message with the unintended audience was not enough, the Acting Commissioner General told the people around him why the Vice President sent him that message and boastfully said that he would defy the request and go-ahead to take the action that he had initiated”.

Indeed, the Acting Commissioner General, according to sources, disobeyed the Vice President.

President Nana Akufo-Addo in June 2019 appointed Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah as Acting Commissioner for Domestic Tax Revenue Division of the GRA, a position, he has abandoned since 1 October 2019.

DAYBREAK is reliably informed that some ‘assurance givers’ at the presidency are busily talking to those who matter to have President Nana Akufo-Addo appoint Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah officially as Acting Commissioner General so that he can attend the Public Services Commission interview and hopefully be confirmed as Commissioner-General.

Again, our sources say a new Commission General from the Northern Region is about to be named by President Nana Akufo-Addo in the coming days.
