The Chief of Staff Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, is being accused of using her privileged to allegedly appoint her brother into the Akufo-Addo government.
Charles Osei Bonsu, has allegedly been appointed the new board chair of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
Previously, the GTA board was chaired by one Adelaide Ahwireng.
However, the former board chair has been replaced with brother of Mrs Osei-Opare.
Madam Ahwireng was allegedly changed because she is a member of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) board and so cannot serve on two positions.
Interestingly, the removed board chair served on two boards without any problem in the immediate past.
Records show that there are countless people in the Akufo-Addo led administration that are serving in various capacities at the same time both past and present.
There is a perception that, Mr Osei Bonsu was appointed simply because of his relationship with the Chief of Staff.
It is unclear if he in the past served in any capacity during the first term of the President
It comes on the back of years of claims by opponents of the President that he is practicing nepotism.
The government in the past four years was accused of appointing what critics call “family and friends” citing this as one of such examples.
