2 Deputy Commissioners Buy Next Ranks

Information reaching the DAYBREAK newspaper indicates that two deputy Commissioners of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), have gone to the Army Service Shop in Accra to buy Commissioner’s ranks for themselves.

It is unclear why the Deputy Commissioners bought those ranks because there is a Commissioner in place in the person of Colonel Kwadwo Damoah.

DAYBREAK sources say the Deputy Commissioners’ (names withheld) are lacing their boots to become Commissioners of the Customs Division of GRA.

One of the Deputy Commissioners is alleged to be enjoying the support of the Vice President, Dr Mahamoudu Bawumia with the aim that if he becomes Commissioner he will be able to raise money to support the Veep’s presidential ambitions.

The other Deputy Commissioner is also said to be enjoying the support of freight forwarders who are also pushing at the top echelon of power for him to become Commissioner so they could also benefit through rebates.
