Stakeholders dialogue on cyber security in Accra

The Deputy Minister of Communications, Vincent Odotei, says government is committed to protecting computer networks, programs, data and internet information.

He said the country is at risk of cyber-crime threats hence the need to ensure a safe and secure cyber space.

He said a key step taken by government to address the emerging threats is the adoption of the National Cyber Security Policy and Strategy.

Mr. Odotei was speaking at a stakeholders’ Dialogue on cyber security in Accra.

The need to protect networks, computers, programs and data immediately comes to mind when terrorism is mentioned.

Cyber security therefore becomes paramount to both organizations and countries alike in their quest to ensure that information is protected from unauthorized users as well as getting it damaged.
